Svetlana Dali, a 57-year-old Russian national, was arrested for attempting to escape from the US to Canada after previously flying from New York to Paris without a ticket. Detained in Buffalo, Dali was court mandated to wear an ankle monitor following her initial offense. She cut off the monitor to try to flee. Dali’s unauthorized boarding of a Delta Airlines flight has raised concerns as no other stowaway incidents were reported during the high-traffic Thanksgiving travel season. She faces charges for obtaining transportation without consent.
