Uterus transplantation has become a viable option for women born without a uterus, thanks to advancements in surgical techniques. Anaïs, who learned at 17 she was born without a uterus, successfully became pregnant at 36 after receiving a transplant from her sister in France. With around 100 surgeries and 70 successful births globally, Switzerland still faces regulatory challenges. Experts, including Michael Müller, emphasize the need for improved techniques and address ethical concerns regarding healthcare resource allocation, especially regarding accessibility for all women.
