A glass panel of the memorial dedicated to the victims of the Strasbourg Christmas market attack from December 11, 2018, was found broken in the early hours of November 5. Local police discovered the damage on Tuesday morning. The memorial, located in Place de la République, was inaugurated in December 2019 on the first anniversary of the tragic event that claimed five lives. An investigation is underway to determine if the damage was accidental or an act of vandalism. The city of Strasbourg has condemned the act and plans to file a complaint.
