The city of Volos celebrated the memory of Saint Basil with a grand ceremony at the local church. Metropolitan Ignatios presided over the evening service, attended by numerous clergy and worshippers. Reverend Themistocles Mourtzanos delivered the homily. Following the liturgy, Metropolitan Ignatios blessed the traditional Vasilopita. The festivities continued with a New Year’s service at the Church of Saint Demetrius, where the Metropolitan emphasized the significance of community and faith in overcoming life’s challenges. The celebrations concluded at the Metropolitan Church of Saint Nicholas with a formal New Year’s tribute.
