Violence Erupts During Protest Against Radical Right Politician in Brussels
Brussels witnessed violent protests against Jordan Bardella, leader of France’s far-right Rassemblement National, during his book launch. Hundreds of protesters, including members of Belgium’s Antifascist groups, clashed with police outside the headquarters of Vlaams Belang, a far-right Belgian party. Demonstrators attempted to breach police lines, throwing fireworks and vandalizing property. Authorities responded with tear gas and water cannons, resulting in 40 arrests. Vlaams Belang distanced itself from the event, blaming leftist groups for the chaos and calling for accountability from local officials.
