Starting December 1, 2023, a new virtual portal for St. Peter’s Basilica will allow users to explore its rich history through 400,000 AI-enhanced photos. This initiative, unveiled at the Vatican, includes digital reconstructions of the basilica’s evolution from Roman times to its current state. Visitors can also enjoy in-person exhibits as the site prepares for the expected influx of pilgrims for the 2025 Jubilee. Developed in collaboration with Microsoft, this project aims to intertwine history, art, and spirituality, enhancing the unique significance of the world’s largest Catholic church.
