Volcano Eruptions in Indonesia Prompt Evacuations Amid Escalating Danger

The Levotombi Laki-Laki volcano in eastern Indonesia erupted at least three times early Saturday, sending ash up to 9 kilometers into the sky. This event follows last week’s eruptions that resulted in nine fatalities. Authorities are now evacuating around 16,000 residents from nearby communities and plan to extend the safety zone from the current eight kilometers to nine. Ongoing eruptions are still releasing lava and gases, intensifying concerns for the affected area.
