The Municipality of Volos has been awarded the Sustainable Tourism Destination Award at the 2024 Swiss Tourism Awards, held during the Swiss International Tourism and Vacation Exhibition in Lugano. The award recognizes Volos’ commitment to promoting high-quality tourism and safeguarding its natural heritage. Volos was among 17 international destinations honored at the event, which attracted 11,000 Swiss families and generated significant business revenue. The award was received by Tourism Deputy Mayor Melpomeni Lazarou, who expressed gratitude for the recognition and invited visitors to explore the beauty of Volos and its surroundings.
