Wayne Roche, 34, has been charged with the murder of John O’Connor in New Ross, County Wexford, on New Year’s Eve. Roche, who has no fixed address, was arrested on January 2 and denied the charges, claiming, ‘I didn’t murder anyone.’ The court granted him legal aid and recommended medical attention while in custody. He is remanded until his next court appearance via video link on January 6. O’Connor was found dead at his home on December 31, shortly after 11am.
