Woman Pleads Guilty in Cork Passport Fraud Case
A 41-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to four counts of providing false information to obtain an Irish passport for her child. The offences, committed in 2009 and 2017, involved fabricating details about the child’s biological father. The unnamed woman, who has no prior convictions, was set to go to trial but opted for a guilty plea. Her defence attorney indicated that psychiatric evaluations would be needed before sentencing, which is scheduled for February 18, 2025. Legal aid has been extended to cover these assessments.
