Women in France More Likely to Work Part-Time Due to Caregiving Responsibilities
A recent study from the Ministry of Labor in France reveals that women are significantly more likely than men to work part-time, primarily due to caregiving responsibilities. The report indicates that 77% of part-time employees are women, with young and senior workers being overrepresented. Men tend to work part-time more often when they are younger, while women increasingly do so after age 55. The average part-time workweek is 18 hours for young workers and 20.5 hours for seniors, with a notable percentage working under 24 hours a week.
