Wood Prices Drop Amid Increased Demand for Heating in Greece
Wood prices in Greece have decreased to €75-€80 per cubic meter, down from €100 last year, as colder weather has spurred a rise in demand. Panagiotis Nestoridis, a wood trader, noted a shift towards wood as a heating source, predicting stable prices moving forward. He recommends consumers check the quality of firewood, favoring local varieties like beech and oak, which are abundant in Thrace. Five cubic meters at €400 is sufficient to heat a home for an extended period.
