Workers Protest Against Minimum Wage Legislation in Greece

On Wednesday afternoon, workers from both the private and public sectors gathered in Syntagma Square, protesting against a new anti-labor law related to the minimum wage. Trade unions, retirees, student groups, and women’s federations demanded a return to collective contracts and real wage increases. Key figures such as Markos Bekris and Niki Chronopoulou voiced strong opposition to the bill, criticizing the government for prioritizing corporate profits over the needs of the populace. Another protest is scheduled for December 11 to continue the fight for workers’ rights.
