Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, head of the World Health Organization (WHO), urged an end to the attacks on hospitals in Gaza following recent Israeli strikes that resulted in fatalities. He highlighted the urgent need for access to healthcare for the residents of Gaza and called for humanitarian organizations to be allowed to provide aid. Israeli military claimed the targeted hospital harbored Hamas militants. Over 240 Palestinians, including medical staff, were detained by Israeli forces. The ongoing military operations have resulted in significant casualties among Palestinians since the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.
