Yoko Ono has been confirmed as the rightful owner of an 18-carat yellow gold Patek Philippe watch she gifted John Lennon for his 40th birthday, just two months before his murder. A Swiss supreme court ruling dismissed an appeal by an Italian collector who had purchased the stolen watch, stating it was never rightfully his. The court concluded that the timepiece was inherited by Ono following Lennon’s death in 1980 and had been stolen from her former driver. The watch, now held by the collector’s lawyer, is set to return to Ono.
