Young People in Germany Skeptical About Political Engagement, New Poll Reveals
A recent poll conducted by Verian for the Bertelsmann Foundation indicates that a significant majority of young people in Germany, aged 16 to 30, believe political engagement is unlikely to effect change. With 38% expressing distrust in politics, and over a third partially agreeing, only a small fraction feel that political parties are receptive to their ideas. Despite this skepticism, many young respondents display a keen interest in social and political issues, with two-thirds wanting more information on topics such as war, health, inflation, and education.
