Youth Protection Workload Declines Significantly in the Netherlands
The workload of youth protectors in the Netherlands has decreased by 25%, thanks to an increase in personnel. A collective agreement between the FNV union and the sector aims to lower the workload to twelve children per protector. While improvements in care are noted, the waiting list for fixed youth protectors remains the same, with around 1,500 children still lacking permanent support. Experts emphasize the need to address these waiting lists even as conditions improve.
