YouTube Urged to Enhance Visibility of Educational Children’s Content
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has called on YouTube and other video-sharing platforms to increase the prominence of high-quality children’s television. Speaking on BBC Radio 4, Nandy highlighted concerns about children missing out on educational content as they shift to online viewing. The government is seeking a voluntary agreement with platforms like YouTube to better promote significant UK-produced children’s programs, while Baroness Floella Benjamin echoed the need for solutions to ensure children have access to age-appropriate entertainment.
